Day 1. Airport - Pinnawela - Dambulla - Sigiriya

This day you will arrive in Sri Lanka. We come and pick you up at the airport. Our first stop will be the elephant orphanage in Pinnawela. After a short stay here we drive to Dambulla and take a walk up to the beautiful cave temples of Dambulla. These are the largest cave temples in Sri Lanka with 157 Buddha statues and more than 2100 square meters of mural paintings in the caves. Since 1991 a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a sacred and popular temple. From here we drive you to Sigiriya, check in to the hotel and enjoy the evening in this beautifully built hotel. The creator is the most famous Architect in Sri Lanka, Mr Geoffrey Bawa. You will stay here two nights.

Day 2. Polonnaruwa - Sigiriya rock

This morning we visit the wonderful area of Pollonaruwa. From 1017-1235, after the demise of the ancient kingdom of Anuradhapura, Polonnaruwa became the second capitol of Sri Lanka. Since 1982, the archeological park of Polonnwarua has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The remains of large stupas and temples with numerous Buddha figures and gardens, parks and palaces make the resort a major attraction of tourism. We have lunch and then continue to the famous Sigiriya Rock. A monolith, on which are the ruins of a historic fortress, known as the Lion's Rock. You can make a walk to the top if you feel like or just enjoy the sight of it. After these intense views you return to the hotel and enjoy the evening here. We recommend you to go to bed very early.

Day 3. Minneriya National Park - Village Tour Sigiriya - Kandy Mountain Area

We start very early this morning. We want to be in the park when the animals wake up. We go for a game ride in the Minneriya National Park. In addition to the huge elephant population, the park is an important refuge for many species of birds. For lunch you visit a village in the area and experience really home made food the old traditional way. After this fantastic experience you will travel on to the mountain area around Kandy. Here is your next world class resort & spa. You will stay in this most luxury environment with peace and treatments for three nights.

According to your wishes the hotel will put together a plan for food, treatments, relaxation and activities. You are now in the middle of the green, beautiful and relaxing nature. Now it is time for "me" time. You are in the holidays and it really starts to feel like it.

Day 6. Kandy Mountains Spa - Kandy City

You check out this morning in your own tempo. Today you will experience the great city of Kandy. It is the second biggest city in Sri Lanka and the capital of Central Province. Kandy is located in the mountainous and thickly forested hills. After arriving to Kandy you will have time for the beautiful botanical garden, see the famous tooth temple and in the evening visit a cultural show with Kandy dancers. You stay one night in a hotel in Kandy.

Day 7. Kandy - Nuwara Eliya

This morning you can sleep out and have breakfast in your tempo. We will drive from Kandy to Nuwara Eliya. Is is also a beautiful ride on the serpentine mountain roads. On the way you will have a stop in a tea factory. After arriving to Nuwara Eliya you will go for a traditional afternoon tea in the Grand Hotel in Nuwara Eliya. After this historical site, you check into your hotel. Here you will stay one night.

Day 8. Nuwara Eliya - Horton Plains National Park - Ella

You start this morning with a hike in the Horton Plains National Park. The park is situated 2000 meters above the sea and therefor it can be a bit colder up here in the mountains. Many of the animals and the plants you find here are endemic to Sri Lanka and you will only find them in this region. Around 750 plant species are represented here, including 54 tree species. Some of these trees reach a height of over 20 meters. Twenty-four mammal species, 87 species of birds, nine reptile species and up to fifteen amphibian species populate this natural paradise. After a few hours hike, you hop into the train, which will take you to Ella. This is one of the most famous train rides, some people say it's the most beautiful one in the world. The train can be so full of people and animals, you have a fantastic view over the hilly tea mountains. Today is a good day to bring the your camera. Enjoy the ride! In Ella you check in to a fantastic hotel and stay here for two nights.

9. Ella - Little Adam's Peak Nine Arch Bridge

Today you will go up very early for a short hike. I the golden sunlight of the morning you will climb the little Adam's Peak. After that you will see the famous Nine Arch Bridge. Then you have a relaxing day in Ella. You can stroll around in the village, swim in the pool, take a massage or just do nothing.

Day 10. Ella - Yala

We start this morning after breakfast. On the way to the entrance to Yala, you will make a stop in the Ravana water falls. The drive goes down the serpentine road towards the south west coast. You check in to a fantastic hotel with luxury tented rooms with a pool. Enjoy the stay! We recommend you to go to bed very early tonight.

Day 11. Yala Nationalpark - Beach

This morning you will have to go up very early. We want to be in the park early morning, when there is a big chance of seeing the animals. You enjoy some hours in the park. In the park you will drive with a local animal spotter in a game jeep. After lunch you drive towards the south beach close to Unwatuna. You stay in this fantastic beach hotel one night.

Day 12. Tea Factory - Galle Fort

After breakfast you leave for Galle Fort. On the way here we will show you a nice tea factory. You can walk around in the estate, enjoy a cup of tea, visit the factory up close and then with a little luck even enjoy a tea test. In this factory they produce the work famous "Virgin White Tea", the gold of all tea.

You arrive in the Galle Fort for lunch time. You can now enjoy the afternoon in this beautiful little fort village. Enjoy the restaurants, coffee shops, the boutiques and the charm. You check into the most beautiful hotel in the Fort. Try to get an afternoon tea at the colonial veranda. This is really something special.

Day 13. Galle Fort - Mask Factory - Boutique - Induruwa

The next morning you can wake up in your own tempo. If you like you can take another walk around. We leave after breakfast towards the west coast and Induruwa. On the way here we make a stop in the mask making factory in Ambalangoda. You learn something about the mask culture and the wooden work. Then we do another stop in a small boutique in Ahungalle and if there are some desires, you can also have a stop in a jewelry store. The last night you will stay in a fantastic hotel with view over the whole coast up to Bentota. Enjoy the sight and the sound of the waves.

Day 14. Induruwa - Airport Colombo

Next day we will drive you to the airport in Colombo. We will have to leave the hotel five hours before departure. We say thanks and welcome you back to this beautiful island any time soon.
